141 imagesThis collection of photographs is inspired by the words of the Buddha. He taught that in order to realise the truth of a complex, interconnected existence we should examine the simple everyday reality of things, including our own bodies. The human body should be the subject of meditation and understood in a dispassionate, detached way. Just as a scientist would conduct an experiment with methodical testing, free of prejudice or expectations, so to we should become aware of how things really are by paying attention to our inner workings. When this is done the clinging to inaccurate beliefs can be reduced and removed leaving only pure wisdom. This is a collection of casual portraits captured on the streets of Canberra, Australia. These are brief encounters with strangers. It can be a nerve racking experience to approach people but also very exciting. I find the many different styles and characters fascinating.
